Data Sharing Agreement
This agreement is entered into by and between Bozeman School District #7 (“BSD7”), and the City of
Bozeman (“City”), a self-governing municipal corporation organized and existing under its Charter and the
laws of the State of Montana, 121 North Rouse, Bozeman, Montana with a mailing address of PO Box
1230, Bozeman, MT 59771. BSD7 and the City enter into this Data Sharing Agreement effective March 4,
2022.
Purpose
The purpose of this Data Sharing Agreement is for BSD7 to provide the data to the City, its representatives
and contractors to develop city-wide equity indicators. These indicators will quantify differences in
people’s ability to access or benefit from services and resources based on their race, ethnicity, gender,
and ability. Equity indicators will serve as a baseline to guide and measure the City’s work to address
service gaps and remove barriers to accessing existing services and resources. The Data sharing agreement
will cover the continued sharing of specific data by BSD7 with the City to track change over time. The City
will use the data from BSD7 to develop and continuously update equity indicators.
Period of Agreement
The period of agreement shall begin between The City of Bozeman and BSD7 on March, 2022. The period
of agreement will continue between the City of Bozeman and BSD7 indefinitely or until either the City or
BSD7 requests to terminate the agreement.

City manages data transfer directly from GEMS/OPI dashboards, coordinates AP indicator data transfer
via email with BSD7 contact

Authority and Indemnification
BSD7 represents that it owns and/or has the legal authority to share the Data specified above with the
City. BSD7 will release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City, its agents, representatives,
employees, and officers from and against any and all claims or actions related to the sharing or use of the
Data by the City.
Confidentiality
BSD7 and the City agree to establish appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to
protect the confidentiality of the data and to prevent unauthorized use or access to it. BSD7 will remove
all confidential information and personally identifying information in the data prior to uploading the data
to a public dashboard. Disaggregation will only occur at the level in which personal identity is not
compromised.
The City agrees to contact BSD7 for review of the dashboard before public launch.
Data-Sharing Costs
The City will be solely responsible for the costs of maintaining the data. No additional costs are anticipated
for BSD7 other than staff time to compile and share data on the agreed upon schedule.
Resources
All agents of BSD7 and the City will have access to the shared data at the discretion of the primary parties
identified in this section. __Casey Bertram – Superintendent___ will be the primary parties involved with
data sharing for BSD7. __Kesslie Carlson-Ham – GIS Analyst__ will be the primary parties involved with
data sharing for the City.

agreement effective with this signing.
