I'm still pretty irritated about what behavior I saw from the city of Bozeman and the Bozeman
health board at that interlocal meeting.
I guess that I will just repost here the response that I gave someone else when they asked meabout that meeting. But really, if the city can't trust each other to represent each other's views
and are there just to represent their own views why are they wasting our time and resources? We need commissioners and employees who are there to work as adults, to better our
community. It's unfortunate that all these people come from outside and they want to changeeverything We love about our community. But if they could at least behave like adults while
you're doing it that would be appreciated. Even better,, maybe show some respect for thoseof us paying your tab..
The following was my response to someone who asked me how the meeting went:
Bunch of immature pre teen behavior from Bozeman City Commission, Bozeman City and
from the Health Board. Worse than expected. The most disappointing part was listening tomembers of Bozeman City and the Health Board staff beating their chests and berating each
other. Some idiot woman actually attacked Skinner because he called a couple people to getout the word that this inter local meeting was occurring we can't be inviting the community
to a meeting about who determines the actions impacting the community, now, can we.
The public comment mostly stated: Matt Kelly, the DC Journalist who was placed in aposition to rule over and to harm us, under the guise of Health officer, damaged our trust. The
Governing body needs to be developed in a way that represents the rancher as well as themaniac outsider trying to crash his audi into a nurse who is trying to turn into her patients
home. No one City should control the rest of the county., or be disproportionately represented. No unelected members. If possible.
We all pay taxes. No levy is needed. Yes that was proposed. Good Lord. We just need to
choose how to spend the generous sums already collected in a better and more responsiblemanner.
Some differing ideas about how to compose the governing body to this end .
I Sent an email suggesting the county commissioners be the governing body. County Healthshould be county run. I also proposed an elected at large member. Who should be someone
who carries actual medical practice knowledge and is not held under the threats of extortioncoming down from the top. Preferably an independent practitioner or allied professional who
can provide researched, reliable and valid information in their role as an advisory board.
Political antics harm us. They are not good for our health. We need an objective andaccountable governing body for the health department.
The hot mic comments were interesting as well.
