I am late in commenting on an item on tonight's agenda so i'll simply say that approval of the Neighborhood
Conservation Overlay District needs additional discussion. It is way beyond the devastating effect of the
wonderful old neighborhoods in the area...the effect of their way of life and the property values of their
homes. Bozeman folks are beginning to wake up that we are on are on a slippery slope. Yes we want infill,
yes we need to reduce sprawl but the repercussions of moving forward without a comprehensive look of
the greater good for our community are becoming apparent...It's not just parking , it's traffic congestion, it's
whether our climate change goals can be met as we rush ahead, Trees and open green space help prevent
the urban dome effect as summers get hotter. Oh, yes we need more capacity for water treatment, wider
roads, etc. etc. You Commissioners know all this. Thank goodness we have you.mBut a pause and a a more
comprehensive view is part of your job.
