Dear Commissioners: We are writing to urge you NOT to approve the Zone Map Amendment (21356)
requesting that the property running along North Third from West Lamme to West Beall be rezoned from
R4 to B3. This would represent a radical shift in the character of this residential neighborhood and portends
a bleak future for all other residential neighborhoods in Bozeman. Will all of Bozeman’s residential
neighborhoods be rezoned (or unzoned) to accommodate the possibility of business expansion? And when
you replace residential neighborhoods with commercial development, how will this zoning change address
the need for low-income housing? Put simply, it will not. Again, we urge you to vote against this
Amendment.
