Dear City Commission, I want to commend you all for what a great job you do in examining, discussing and
deciding a forward-looking course for Bozeman. I know you have a lot to juggle. We live in the city core and
have been impacted by both contractor parking - but also the ever growing parking on the street of people
who do not want to pay the hotel parking fees. I think when the new Marriot opens it will get worse. I have
supported all the mill levies for parks, police, schools, etc. Is it possible for the city to build one or more
large city parking garages on strategic edges of the downtown for the public good? It seems like asking the
developers to build parking to support their development has failed but I am not sure who in the
commission is fighting for providing some long term solutions. Neighborhood permits, meters, etc, seem
like short term fixes - what we need are large capacity garages that are easy to use, sprinkled around. I
would support a mill levie for this. Anyway, whatever you do, I think you are doing a great job and making
Bozeman a better place for us all. THANKs!
