FROM:Thom White, Parks Superintendent
Mitch Overton, Parks & Recreation Director
SUBJECT:Work Plan Overview
MEETING DATE:January 27, 2022
AGENDA ITEM TYPE:Citizen Advisory Board/Commission
RECOMMENDATION:none
STRATEGIC PLAN:7.3 Best Practices, Creativity & Foresight: Utilize best practices, innovative
approaches, and constantly anticipate new directions and changes relevant
to the governance of the City. Be also adaptable and flexible with an
outward focus on the customer and an external understanding of the issues
as others may see them.
BACKGROUND:FYI/Discussion we will have the discussion regarding working on (and
hopefully completing) our Work Plan in February, which I hope Thom’s
presentation gives some good foreshadowing to necessary Board work. It
was apparent at our first meeting that we really needed to do an overview
of the City Divisions associated with this Board and their respective
portfolios, for there are many new and great members. There is so much
going on within these Divisions it seemed best to take this meeting for a
walk through an overview of Parks, Trails, Planning & Development,
Forestry, and Cemetery with the Board since the first meeting was more
ethics training, board mechanics, role of board, and introductions.
