With the likely approval of additional funds for the main reading room lighting replacement we are requesting additional services for designing and engineering these new lights. This work will include the following: Mazzetti will develop design options for the main reading room lighting and prepare lighting calculations. MSR Design will revise shelving layouts as needed to maintain proper light levels in stack areas. MSR Design, Mazzetti, and Morrison-Maierle will prepare luminaire drawings, schedules, circuiting drawings, lighting controls drawings, and specifications for bidding and construction. We will prepare energy code documentation, including lighting controls, as needed for code compliance. We will provide construction administration work associated with the lighting scope. We will provide specifications for LED retrofit options for City staff to facilitate “one for one” luminaire replacement or LED retrofit lamps in the future when additional funding becomes available. The library is moving forward with the purchase of a new automated materials handling system (AMH). The new AMH is larger than the existing model and its installation will require changes to the Level 1 staff spaces. There are efficiencies and cost-savings to folding this work into the renovation work already taking place. We are requesting additional services to do the following: MSR Design and our consultants will prepare drawings and specifications for the revised Level 1 office spaces: relocated walls, doors, and millwork. MSR Design will coordinate with the AMH provider to provide power and data for the new equipment. We will provide construction administration work associated with this scope. The design and engineering fees for the work noted above will be $20,810. The fee breaks down as follows: Lighting replacement $15.680 AMH and Level 1 Staff Offices $ 5,130 Total $20,810 The estimated reimbursable expenses for this scope are $1,200 which is inclusive of one site trip for the lighting designer, printing, and postage. If this proposal is acceptable to you, please sign below. Please reach out if you have any questions about this proposal.
