Greetings- Our comments are in support of the Canyon Gate proposal which is coming beforethe Commision. The support is based on the following: 1. This proposal directly aligns with the housing and development standards and objectives the City has established. Either these standards mean something or theydon't. 2. Our city is growing and we need more housing, plain and simple. We believe there are two ways to address this need. In the downtown core, development needs to build up, and outside the downtown core, developments need to incorporategreater housing density. The other option is spraw, which too many other citieshave allowed to go unchecked, which has destroyed the appeal of many cities. 3. It is true that housing is very expensive in Bozeman. Decreasing density as some opponents are demanding, only accentuates this issue as fewer homes typically mean more expensive homes.4. Home Base Partners (HBP) have become the lightning rod for those opposed to growth and changes in our city. The reality is that HBP projects have been done well, are attractive and most importantly, have thoughtfully filled a need as evidenced by how quickly they sell out.5. The proposed Canyon Gate project is in the right place. It is not in Bridger Canyon, but rather across the street from an ice making business and just down the street from the maintenance shop for the golf course. Across Bridger Drive is the new affordable housing development and the Story Mill Park. Thank you for your consideration. Please separate fact from fiction as you weigh your decision. In doing so we am certain you will conclude that this proposal is well conceived and deserves your support. Thank you- Steven and Kristin Enoch Bozeman residents
