Dear Bozeman City Commissioners:
I ask you to vote no on the Canyon Gate development at the mouth of Bridger Canyon.
Here are my comments:
We rented in Bridger Canyon 7 years ago when we moved to be closer to family. I am very familiar with this area
and am acutely aware of how beautiful this neighborhood is. The residents in this area are not against appropriate
development. After educating and learning what the developer wants (changing the zoning and mega buildings), it
is just not appropriate. I was very unimpressed with the lack of knowledge expressed by commissioners about the
importance of this lively wildlife corridor. Part of the mission of nearby Story Mill Park ( across the Bridger Drive)
was to preserve the corridor and to conserve aspects of the Bridger Creek and wetlands area. There is enough
development going on as it is that will affect this. Never mind the safety issues of additional traffic and the BNSF
trains blocking the tracks. The Zoning Board voted no and I hope that you will do the same.
Thank you for your attention to this most serious matter on the unabated growth of BZN.
