Dear Commissioners,
I am writing to you about the Annexation and Rezoning request from HOMEBASE Development
Company located at the mouth of Bridger Canyon.
I am aware that the public comment period is over and that over 400 of your citizens have
attended two public hearings, waiting patiently late into the night. Each one made excellent
points regarding the developers proposal including the adverse impacts related to
overwhelmed infrastructure and public safety and stewardship. The developer is only
interested in the value created by this density.
I would like to point out that this residential density would affect Hawthorne Elementary School
in a way that would overwhelm the school and require a “sister school”.
Would the City and Board of Education buy a part of the property and rezone the overall
density and uses to be compatible with the entire area surrounding this land?
