Comments/Questions
A recent news article indicates the City is trying to 'reduce noise" from the trains in the area
NE of Griffith. This appears to be only be an appeasement to developers and not based on
good practice or community complaints. Typically communities with avalance issues, noise
pollution laws and such promote quieting trains. Bozeman does not meet this criteria. The
question is WHY spend money on this item? Train whistles are in fact a warning device,
therefore a safety notice to those who may be crossing the tracks. When will the City
Commissioners and City Planning stop focussing on the loud profit oriented voice of
developers. Others try and equate the train noise with the tracks being dangerous. Not true.
Please reconsider spending the communities money on such an item.
"David Fine, an economic development specialist for the city, said the city has started
engineering work to fully design the improvements, which include putting in a raised
concrete median that would prevent cars from driving around lowered rail gates."
Thank you,
City Of Bozeman
