I am writing to urge you to preserve the old deaconess hospital on Wilson. It is a historic
building along
the lines of the baxter. Why are we giving homebase so much power to ruin this town?
I have lived here 46 years and every project they have done has been met with opposition
from the community, the same community that votes the city commissioners into power.
This opposition seems to be falling on deaf ears time and time again.
When are we going to curb money hungry developers that have no interest in preserving the
charm and integrity of this town, which used to be beautiful (the homebase project are just
plain ugly and oversized)
We need to be planning future builds to affordable housing, not supplying second homes to
the elite who drive up our taxes and contribute absolutely nothing to our community.
Please put reins on this company, they are going too far.
