Honorable Mayor and Commissioners,I would like to apologize for how my comments turned out last night. I am truly sorry for the
negativity that evolved.I spent hours paring down my prepared comments to only 3 minutes. The surprise reduction to
2 minutes resulted in my being totally flustered and angry. Trying to speak faster resulted in adry mouth and made everything much worse. And I made it even worse by assuming that I
could finish if I just kept talking. I blew it! I didn't get to my conclusion and the most important part of what I needed to say
about the issue. My conclusion also included a thank you for your public service. THANK YOU for your service. I do believe public service is the backbone of our democracy.
In hindsight I wish I had been level headed enough to ask for an option to speak later, so Icould reduce my comments to 2 minutes.
