I am in favor of the Canyon Gate Annexation for the following reasons:
The application should be approved for these and other positive reasons impacting on the city and the
neighborhood in question:
the project is consistent with the city’s growth and land use plans.
+ From the City Staff report: “Meets standards for approval with terms of annexation and contingencies
…and move to recommend approval for the Canyon Gate Zone Map Amendment,”
the project provides a diverse mix of housing options at “workforce housing” price points that are built
“Up” and not “Out,” relieving unintended sprawl.
the project’s mixed-use nature will provide much needed retail for products and services in the area which
will encourage walking and biking, relieving traffic in other parts of the city.
+ Smith’s grocery store is the closest - more than 3 miles.
