I am asking you to work with developers to ensure the uniqueness of Bozeman is protected, not replaced with
development that destroys the heritage, history and character of our city.
Housing is needed, but not housing that caters to those that can afford million dollar condos. When the lens of
decision making is ‘economic development’, focus is on profits and not the heart of community.
The challenge is find the balance. But if economic development takes an unbalanced priority, the heritage and
character of a city is shortchanged. If the developer, having an over-abundance of power and influence, is focused
on profits without a connection to the heart of a city, the Community is threatened.
I urge you to do what it takes to do what is needed to find the balance. The perfect balance.
As the sage advice given us in a Girl Scout song from years ago app Make new friends, but keep the old. One is
silver, the other gold. The wisdom surely applies to more that friendships.
Thank you for considering my comments.
