Dear Commissioners, The Canyon Gate development is ON ALL FRONTS WRONG and inappropriate for thevisually beautiful and irreplaceable entrance to Bridger Canyon. That view belongs to ALLOF THE PEOPLE in the valley not just a here today-gone tomorrow, for profit only, visionless, development company. RESPECT the zoning that is in place. PROTECT the citizens that have invested their family lives and money to live in a semi-rural community not the proposed URBANSPRAWL. Mr Hollaran’s OVERBEARING development is better suited for the interior of the city.Seventh Ave could use a facelift to bring in green space, walkability and a mix of housing andretail. It is the perfect location for city expansion. The Zoning and City Commissioners needto cultivate foresight and require developers who specialize in sustainable, green, innovative, and human friendly growth. The trend across the globe is to revitalize cities that have beendestroyed by urban blight. Bozeman is running head long in the wrong direction. HomeBase Partners’ vision has been clearly demonstrated in downtown Bozeman where towering prison-like structures now block the sun, neighborhoods are being gobbled up and no one is profiting but the developer. Their vision and methods are outdated. I don’t want to see this mistake recreated at the base of the Bridgers. We need to protect what is left of the Goose that laid the golden egg. Those eggs are why we live here. Sincerely, Baird Godvin
