Dear Commissioners:
The email I received below, indicates that consideration of annexing the lot on the NE corner of Bridger Drive and
Story Mill Rd. has already been decided. This is confusing, since today is the meeting on that agenda item and the
comment period is still open.
I am opposed to annexing this lot as proposed by Andy Hollaran and HomeBase Partners. This outfit is known for
creating luxury residences where workforce and affordable housing are sorely needed. HB Partners exemplifies
gentrification at its most perniciousness . Additionally, it has created some of the worst ill will I have witnessed in
four decades of living in Bozeman. Although that is not tangible, it is still a very real aspect of living in Bozeman.
Never forget that more than 90 low income people were displaced to create the failed luxury condos on the opposite
corner. It is salt in the wounds of those people and flys in the face of citizens struggling to find housing to permit
luxury dwellings in this lot. (The housing going up at Story Mill doesn't come close to compensating for who was
shoved out of their homes.
Workforce housing and otherwise affordable housing are the only appropriate development for this site. I urge you
not to approve the annexation and eventual luxury development HB Partners has planned for this site.

Supplemental Materials: Canyon Gate Annexation Agreement
Consider the motion: Having reviewed and considered the staff report, application materials, public
comment, and all information presented, I hereby adopt the findings related to annexation presented in thestaff report for application 21337 and move to approve Resolution 5363, the Canyon Gate Annexation andauthorize the City Manager to sign the Canyon Gate Annexation Agreement.
AND
Having reviewed and considered the staff report, application materials, public comment, and all information
presented, I hereby adopt the findings related to zoning presented in the staff report for application 21337
and move to provisionally adopt Ordinance 2099, the Canyon Gate Zone Map Amendment.
