While we support initiatives with the objective to provide lower cost housingalternatives in the Bozeman area, the HomeBase Partners proposal for developmentof the corner of Story Mill and Bridger should not be approved for multiple reasons. Key ones include: - Claiming the objective of the project is to provide lower cost hosing is at best adeceptive way to sell the project. A very small part of the plan (perhaps none of it)is aimed at this objective. - Bozeman (the town, citizens, businesses, etc.) benefit from the scenery that surrounds the town. Placing a 5 (or even fewer) story building as you enter the canyon is bad for not only those traveling toward canyon but would be anobstruction for individuals looking in the direction of the “M” from multiple locations in the town. - Rezoning this area with the vision for a location for entities such as hotels and retail establishments seems totally out of character for this portion of the town.- A study of the increase in road traffic at the mouth of the canyon and the long term implications (for all seasons of the year) should be a requirement prior to any future proposal even being seriously considered. Thank you for considering our input. Dan & Mary Draper972 St. Andrews DriveBozeman, MT 59715dhdraper@icloud.comCell: 585-381-6549
