Dear Commissioners,
I am writing in opposition to the requested zoning at the northeast corner of Bridger Canyon
and Story Mill and asking you to follow the zoning board's recommendation to deny thisapplication. This land should absolutely become annexed but R-5 is way too much density for
that area.
The increased delays at the train crossings are a big issue on that side of town. We allunderstand that more development has nothing to do with the train delays BUT encouraging
more growth in an inadequately protected area due to increased response times would beirresponsible of the commission.
This density just doesn't match the neighborhood. I believe the best approach would be to
expand the existing surrounding zoning into the annexed parcel by at least one lot and thentransition to more R-3 with some business along Story Mill. Remember you make the broad
stroke decisions and then development follows suit.
Lastly please look at what Homebase has done in the past as far as affordable housing beforeyou just stamp this project approved for the sake of lowering home prices. And don't take
anyone's word that they won't build to the max allowable sizes. Once it's zoned there'snothing to stop the maximum allowed parameters. Please don't let the developer drive the bus
here.
Thank you for your time.
