Hi Carrie,
Demolition approval for the Mountain View Care Center at 205 N. Tracy, which is attached to the historic Bozeman
Deaconess Hospital, was approved October 26, 2021. The structure was built in the 1970’s and was non-eligible for historic
status. Subsequent development of the site in the short term will be site reclamation and conversion to a temporary parking
lot with 80 spaces, and the wall adjacent to the old Deaconess hospital will be filled with brick of similar style to what is
existing. The applicant shows a building where 205 N. Tracy currently stands under phase 2 of their master site plan
application currently in final review with Planning. This will require them to submit a site plan application for review which
will have a public notice process. The city code does not require public notice of demolition of non-historic structures, that’s
why you’re not seeing it specifically on the map.

From my office, I can hear and see that demolition work has begun on the north side of Mountain View. According to public
information as shown below, this is still under final review. This kind of work can be done without a permit? What’s going on?
