To Members of the City Commission:
As a homeowner in the Legends at Bridger Creek subdivision, I have followed with great
interest the proposed project and rezoning of the property at Bridger Drive and Story Mill.
Having lived in this area for 12 years, I have witnessed the dense growth in residential
development in the adjoining valley and the creation of Story Mill Community Park.
I urge you to consider how the nature of this beautiful gateway to the Bridger Mountains will
be harmed by the addition of unneeded commercial development at this site. The Bozeman
community has firmly endorsed this corridor as a haven for recreation, family gatherings,
biking, walking, and hiking at the "M" and Drinking Horse. It is truly a unique part of the valley
which current residents and those of the new adjoining residential community will utilize.
Ample business space exists in other areas for which infrastructure is already in place.
Traffic, which is already becoming problematic, will only be made worse by the increased
density proposed by this development. Limiting zoning to R-3 and B-1 would allow for
structures and density more in keeping with the nature and needs of this area.
Please bear in mind the attributes that make Bozeman so unique that seem to be disappearing
in the attempt to develop every remaining bit of greenspace.
