To whom it may concern, We recently became aware of an attempt to annex and dramatically upzone part of GallatinCounty directly adjacent to our neighborhood. Our neighborhood is a family oriented, walkable and quiet corner of Bozeman, and while it is understandable with the nationwidehousing situation that the city would like to increase housing opportunities this particular area is the wrong place to do it. The primary point of concern is all critical services - Fire, Health, Law Enforcement arefrequently inaccessible to this, and all neighborhoods adjacent to us due to the frequency of trains and increasing traffic in the area. Increasing housing density in this area withoutincreasing access to life saving services could be deadly and have a compounding quality of life effect on everyone in this area. I strongly urge the council to vote against any upzoningwithout addressing the critical needs of the neighborhood BEFORE any such zoning is explored. In addition to the critical services which would suffer unknown, but surely significantdelays, the 'pay in lieu' of greenspace approach the developer in question, along with their attempts to put a high rise in this neighborhood is abhorrent. This area is not the place for suchdevelopments when there are miles of low rise and single family homes between here and the city proper. This would create a situation which would ruin the neighborhood, destroy natureand when combined with the train situation would take Bozeman another step towards a traffic nightmare. Please don't let Bozeman get ruined by poorly planned sprawl and self-centered developers. This section should have housing built, yes, but that housing should be congruent with the immediately surrounding area and not create a safety risk to the taxpaying residents of theneighborhoods around it.
