Dear City of Bozeman,
My husband and I are senior citizens who have lived here for many, many, years.
Our three children have gone through the Bozeman Schools. We just want to say,
how very disappointed we are with our mayor and city council that want to tax
senior citizens who have lived here a long time out of their homes. Our city taxes
have more than doubled the past two years! There should be a cap on the
taxes in this town for your seniors.
I really feel there is no one in charge in this city that really gives a darn about the
senior citizens being able to stay in their homes. We just keep getting taxed to death
on our fixed retirement incomes.
What city services have you increased for us in our area to justify this increase?
Your leaf pickup in our area was a week earlier than your schedule said, and then
we are told there is only one pickup and we have to pay to have our leaves hauled
away or bring them to your City Complex on a certain day. And,how much have you
increased our taxes? This is not great city service to justify such an increase.
Please take into consideration the hardships you put on your senior citizens, who
have contributed and paid taxes to this community for many, many years, when
deciding to make extremely large increases in our city taxes.
Thanks you for listening to our concerns!
