Dear City Commissioners and Mr. Mihelich-
I understand you'll be working on the Capital Improvement Plan over the next few weeks. I'd
like to request that you commit to earmarking several million dollars towards future RR Xingimprovements at either L street, N.Rouse, or Griffin. If even one of those gets improved, then
public safety will be much better for those of us living on the north side of the tracks or forany resident travelling to and from the north side. In light of the recent increase in track
crossing delays due to the increase in both car and train traffic, and the numerous requests byBozeman residents to have this addressed, this is a great opportunity to take the bull by the
horns, if you will.
I did my due diligence before moving to the north side of the tracks six years ago, andalthough I knew growth would always be an issue, I did not anticipate what we've experienced
in the last two years. With the current and anticipated approved development coming to thenortheast side of Bozeman, I think it would be prudent and responsible to set aside substantial
funds for future above or below-grade RR xing improvements. The newly passedinfrastructure bills should help in this regard. I do not believe this should be covered by a new
bond since this has been a long time coming.
Thank you for your consideration.Kind regards,
Marcia Kaveney1496 Boylan Rd.
