I live in Baxter Meadows West and we often cross the street to get to the soccer fields or go for walks. We always have to wait for multiple speeding cars to pass before we can safely cross. Drivers are not paying attention to the cross walk, either texting, talking on their phone or just simply not recognizing that there are Pedestrians trying to cross the street. I have two questions for the City of Bozeman. 1. Why is the speed limit 45 mph on Baxter Lane in front of the Sports Park and 25 mph on Flanders Mill? Just right up the street on Baxter it is 25 mph and then as you hit the park it increases to 45 mph??? The City added a park and didn't adjust the speed limit to keep children and families safe. 2. Why can the City of Bozeman not install a blinking cross walk so that drivers are alerted that a pedestrian is attempting to cross? Our City is growing and now Baxter Lane looks more like a highway. It is ridiculous that the speed limit is 45mph in front a park and that there is not an appropriate flashing light to keep our citizens safe. Thank you for your time in reading this comment.
