The intersection is a significant hazard—requiring drivers heading north on Flanders Mill to cross four lanes of traffic if going straight, and crossing 2 lanes of traffic while passing through a quasi-intersection, if turning left. I honestly can’t understand why the city would approve of this intersection in its current state—particularly when placed in direct proximity to a high school where new/inexperienced drivers are going to/from in a daily basis. The recently installed rumble strips are a minor improvement, in terms of prompting the realization of a rapidly approaching stop sign, but they do nothing to improve the traffic flow (and hazard) of people attempting the turn left from opposing directions…often forgetting which side the opposing car should be on when completing the left turn. Thank you for considering, Kimmelin Hull Gallatin High School parent If you would like to submit additional documents (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .rtf, .txt) along with your comment, you may alternately address agenda@bozeman.net directly to ensure receipt of all information.
