I am writing this letter to express my concern about the dangerous intersection at Oak Street and Flanders
Mill. I am the parent of a tenth grader at GHS. I am shocked that this intersection did not already have a
stop light installed before the school even opened. I am wondering how many accidents it takes before the
City of Bozeman puts in a traffic light. Does it actually take a fatality before a light is installed?
I have driven a car for thirty years and I am still terrified to cross this intersection during busy times. It is
virtually impossible to safely make it across all four lanes or attempt to make a left onto Flanders from
Cottonwood during times of high traffic. I have thirty years experience driving and find this a daunting task.
I can't imagine how a new driver must feel.
Please, move this intersection up on the priority list for the City of Bozeman. Thanks for helping keep our
students safe.
