RECYCLE MONTANA
Esteemed Mayor,
At one time you were a member of Recycle Montana; we would sure love to have you back! We need your
membership to help in the continuation of our services and programs to Montanans. Created in 1988, Recycle
Montana is proud to be the leading statewide voice of recycling and an ongoing resource to advise, support, and
educate Montanans on waste reduction opportunities. By being a member, you support our efforts to educate
and help Montanans recycle and start or enhance current recycling efforts.
We continually field inquiries about what can be recycled in the state of Montana, where it can be recycled, and
how to start a recycling program. Our website, recyclemontana.org, offers local and national articles and facts
on recycling, and connects recyclers to organizations and recycling websites. We provide the "how to" and
"what to" resources on recycling; our ever growing "Where to Recycle" in Montana list links to the 230+
recycling sites in our beautiful state. Our Facebook page highlights activities of recyclers in Montana, fact
sheets, links to statewide and national organizations, articles and events.
Additionally, your membership helps cover costs in the creation and distribution of our own recycling education
trunks. Over 200 Recycle Montana education trunks that contain hands on examples of recycled/repurposed
materials and lesson plans for K through 12 are currently in use by schools and learning centers all across the
state.
One of our newest endeavors, held for the first time in September of this year, was the Recycle Montana Trash
Dash, a week long competition to pick up garbage and recyclables across the state. Our partners, the Future
Farmers of America(FFA), carried the banner with District teams picking up garbage and recyclables in
Fairview,Denton, Twin Bridges,Winifred, and Gardiner. The winners of the Most Recyclables,Heaviest
Garbage,Most Unusual Garbage,Best PPE, and Best Use of the Recycle Montana Trash Dash Iron On Logo
won pizzas at their local restaurants or Recycle Montana t-shirts.
Your membership aids the continuation of these existing services, education and community support as well as
helps fund future projects. This includes the planned expansion of the Trash Dash in the following years. We
have already been contacted by other organizations and colleges interested in participating in the 2022 Trash
Dash and look to grow the event in the coming years.
We ask that you consider coming back to Recycle Montana and become part of this active non-profit
organization that has been helping Montanans recycle for over 33 years. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Since y,
