Hello,
Please consider a review of the intersections around Gallatin High School.
First, Flanders Mill and Oak Street. I believe this intersection was originally set to be a round-about, but for
some reason, it is a 2-way stop. I've seen an accident here, and several near-miss accidents. This is a very
high-traffic area during weekdays and filled with young drivers. The boulevard turn is confusing for people,
and often people turn into others. This is a very dangerous set up to have near a school. Please consider
replacing the intersection with a roundabout. The roundabout at the corner of Oak and Cottonwood works
great.
I also feel a change to the traffic flow at the corner of Annie and Cottonwood should be considered. The
Boulevard/turning lanes here also make it very difficult to see and it's also a very high-traffic area. I feel the
city street planning department should review the traffic flow established by the school for child drop-off
and they will see that the exit at Annie should be a right-turn-only route, or a round-about to prevent the
dangerous left turns across traffic.
Thank you for your consideration of this. Best regards, Lorelyn Mayr
