The intersection of Oak and Flanders Mill needs to be a traffic light. I have seen so many accidents there. I
see kids trying to cross, buses trying to get in and out in the mornings, parents and students trying to turn
to get to the school...all getting impatient and making dangerous turns just trying to get into the school.
Adding the rumble strips did help a little bit to get people's attention but it's not enough. I live in this area
and I see cars flying down that road at 45MPH+ all the time. It's like a racetrack. It does not help that the
roundabout is also shut down into the housing off of Cottonwood and Oak due to that huge construction
project. That has created a HUGE issue at Annie and Cottonwood as well. That is also another very
dangerous intersection. Yet again, that road is a racetrack. Elementary school kids trying to cross into that
neighborhood are at risk as well. There needs to be crossing lights that flash just like there are at
roundabouts. It's frustrating that often when school is about to open or just opens for the year, roads get
shut down cutting off access.
