I am writing to express my concern for the public safety issue at the intersection of FlandersMill and Oak Street adjacent to Gallatin High School. This intersection is dangerous and sees
a lot of inexperienced drivers. The good news is there is a low cost and low effort fix can beaccomplished quickly by the city.
If the center median was extended on Oak Street though this intersection, it would prevent left
hand turns from Oak, and Flanders street and prevent cars from Flanders from crossing Oak. see attached image. This solution could be tested with a temporary barrier while the situation
is studied further.
