Hello Sarah, and to whom else this may concern,
My name is Heather Owsiacki and I live at 524 N. Wallace Ave at the corner of Peach St andWallace Ave along with my partner, Matt McDonald. We will be one of the neighbors most
impacted by the proposed Wildlands Development and wish to voice some concerns.
1. Safety: This is a family neighborhood and the development is already on a very busyintersection. Adding this many new residential units will cause more congestion for
pedestrians, bikers, kids and families who reside here.
2. Parking: I believe it has been proposed to allow parking on the North side of Peach St(alongside the Finks Deli side). The road is already crowded and expanding parking to both
sides of the road will make it incredibly difficult for us to access our driveway.
3. Privacy loss: Our kitchen, living room and backyard all face Peach St and the large south-facing windows in the blueprint will be able to see directly into our house and yard.
4. Noise: My partner and I both work from home 9-5. Construction and the subsequent noise
from such a large volume of new residents and traffic will negatively impact our work anddaily living conditions. Building this many condos on top of the new common spaces and a
new courtyard that looks into our kitchen and living room will be very disruptive.
5. Long term sustainability: We understand that there is a shortage of housing in Bozeman, but adding more luxury condos will not resolve this problem and is detrimental to the long
term health of the North East neighborhood. As residents, we want to see sustainabledevelopment that keeps the funkiness and historic identity of the Brewery District, while also
improving the livelihood of everyone who is lucky enough to call this home.
If this project is forced forward without consideration of the neighborhood’s needs, we believethere are much more effective ways to achieve the developers’ goals. For example, a low level
building (1- or 2 story building) that includes underground parking, more space for localcraftspeople and business and maintains the natural beauty of the Bozeman Brewery Historic
District.
We want any development happening here to give back to the community in a positive wayand the current plans for the Wildlands Development fall short of doing that.
Best,
Heather
