Dear City of Bozeman, Please see attached letter against high-density development by HomeBase Partners. Thank you, Thomas E. Barrett November 16, 2021 Development of NE corner of Bridger Drive and Story Mill Road Dear City of Bozeman, I know that that this corner in question will be developed, but it should be for residential use only. We live on Bridger Drive (on the north side) and have seen the ski traffic drastically increase over the years with the increased population. Bridger View is already taking place on the SW corner of Bridger and Story Mill. To add a major development with the highest density possible would be a nightmare in many respects: 1) Traffic increase would dramatically be a problem with development all over the valley. This development would make it so much worse. 2) The Train – an underpass or overpass is needed (no matter what) for increased traffic and emergency vehicles. Who pays ?? I’m sure HomeBase Partners would rather not. 3) Water – The City is approving subdivisions and apartment complexes at an alarmingly high rate. Drought is a major problem affecting our supply. When do you say enough is enough to large scale construction? 4) Wildlife – We have deer, bears, turkey in the area. With increases in traffic, they will eventually need safe passage with tunnels or overpasses on Bridger Drive and Story Mill Road. 5) Stoplight or roundabout at the corner in question would be required. Who pays? 6) Last but not least – How many dwellings will sit empty most of the year?? Please say NO to this high-density proposal. It is not beneficial for this area. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Thomas E. Barrett 1821 Bridger Drive
