11/16/2021 - Writing today to voice my strong opposition to the current zoning request that HomeBase
partners is proposing for development at the corner of Story Mill and Bridger Canyon. For the record I do
think development is appropriate however, the zoning should match the adjacent neighborhoods (single
family residential).
In my opinion, two acres of open space is a joke (and frankly an insult) AND cash in lieu of required open
space is abominable. Anyone who looks the other way and takes money over what's in the best interest of
the community should re-examine their motivation for being in a place to make meaningful decisions.
One can imagine a scenario (that I believe is playing out - so not imaginary) where the land by the Wild
Crumb gets developed, Story Mill gets developed, Bridger View gets developed and then Home Base gets to
pack 1000s of people into 24 acres with no open space and in 5 years we are left with a junk show.
On top of it just being the wrong thing to approve the resulting mess that will need to be handled at a later
date is, in a word, unforgivable.
