What are the two biggest problems that Bozeman faces right now? - reduction and demise of open space/land/wildlife corridors and habitat - lack of affordable housing - walkable neighborhoods in new developments west of 19th This proposal does NOTHING to improve, but in fact makes these problems worse. The city needs to makes decisions that benefit the greater good, which includes the people and critters who live here. The area west of Bozeman is severely lacking in the amenities that are being proposed for this area, when the growth around Cottonwood, Oak is accelerating. With so much effort put into downtown, 7th, the cannery district, people who live west of 19th must drive east for decent dining and and shopping opportunities as there are few comparable walk-to options. If development is a priority, and we know it is, require sustainable and social equity benefits for ALL projects moving forward. This new HomeBase development does nothing to contribute to affordable housing (but makes it worse), it takes away a critical wildlife corridor, and puts services in an area that is not lacking for them when if relocated west, would fill a void that would create more walkable options for the communities on the west side of Bozeman.
