Hello,
I am concerned about your plan to remove the cap on dispensaries in Bozeman. Bozeman seems to be one of the few
cities that has managed the medical marijuana industry well. Because of the balance Bozeman has, access is good
for residents, competition is fair and sustainable for business, and the community is happy. One only need to look as
far as Butte or Missoula to find community members unhappy and complaining about having too many dispensaries,
which will ultimately be bad for residents and businesses. I have heard many stories about dispensaries in those
areas struggling due to too much competition. I feel like larger dispensaries with locations across the state will come
in and put the little guys out of business.
If you feel like Bozeman could benefit from having a few more dispensaries, I urge you to consider increasing the
cap slightly, rather than eliminating it. You can always increase the cap, but you will never be able to put the cap
back on once it’s removed.
