I am a taxpayer in Bozeman and the parent of a Bozeman Barracuda swimmer. I was surprised to learn that
the city is allowing the swim center to rent pool time/lane space to swim clubs outside of Bozeman. If 70%
of funding is through property taxes then I would think priority would be given to Bozeman swimmers
(Barracudas and Brookies and our high schools) Our practices are overcrowded as it is and allocating space
to Belgrade H.S. and whatever other group outside of Bozeman that is renting space there is going to make
that even worse. Can you explain to me, a Bozeman homeowner, how this makes sense? I want my taxes to
go towards supporting swimming for Bozemanites!
