She read to me the letter or objection that you wroteand intend to present to the board (good job!) and asked if I would support it. I enthusiastically will support it and would like my name, as the property owner of 714 Matheson Way, attachedto any petition drawn up to oppose a zoning change in the proposed area. The board seems not to have been transparent and forthcoming in explaining to propertyowners affected just why they are seeking the change, what building plans have been proposed for the area, and who are the property owners and contractors involved. I might wonder if anyboard members should exclude themselves from voting on this proposed zoning change because of a conflict of interest. I particularly would oppose any housing unit constructed that would be over two stories (main floor/upstairs). Anything taller than that defeats the original intention of the WaltonHomestead addition which wanted to preserve the country-ranch living environment. This country-ranch preference is further reflected in the residents’ willingness to set aside andmaintain land within the addition as open space. They originally wished and still wish to preserve the homestead nature of the Walton Homestead addition. Any three-storydevelopment next door would immediately urbanize the entire area, create more traffic, and interfere with the mountain and sky views presently available from many backyards. I am sorry that I can’t be there in person, Deirdre, to support your cause. I will let Bonnie speak for me. If I had an address for the government body who will make this decision, I would send them a letter expressing my views. If you have an email address, you have my permission to forwardthis letter to them. Sincerely,Gail W. Reynolds
