RE: Application # 21330
I'm writing to protest the proposed Zone Map Amendment.
I am the sole owner of the home at 758 Matheson Way, directly adjacent to the property associated
with the Zoning Amendment. I have owned the property since 2015, and have been a resident of
Bozeman and southwest Montana since 1988.
The proposed amendment to the current R-3 zoned parcel to R4 would dramatically change the
nature of existing, adjoining neighborhoods in several obvious negative ways. Currentl zoning is
more than adequate and efficient use of the property. The change to R4 is unnecessary and
incongruent with existing development and designated zoning on yet undeveloped, contiguous
properties.
Zoning changes should take place when there are no other options. The County has numerous
options.
Zoning Maps were established for concrete reasons, and modifying them has significant
consequences. Zoning is a social contract between citizens and their representative local
government.
