City of Bozeman,
I am opposed to the Site Plan Application for “The Ives”. This development will put a 6-story building
immediately next to R-1 single family homes. There needs to be some kind of transition or buffer
zone between the two. The buffer should be parkland but the developer is requesting cash-in-lieu
rather than parkland. Cash is no replacement for urban open space and parkland. Once a building is
built, there is no going back. This project does not revitalize Bozeman’s downtown. Rather it
degrades it and makes it less safe by promoting a driveway variance located too close to an
intersection. The City of Bozeman should expect and require much better development proposals
than this one. Please reject it.
