Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Please accept this email as an expression of total opposition to the proposed massive building in North Bozeman called the Ives. Bozeman still has all the alluring aspects of a small town where neighbors know each other and care for the heart of this community. I have lived here since 1994 and have been a property owner for some 20 years. I have watched in growing disgust as Bozeman over the past five years has changed into a very different place, with some of these negative changes coming in the city and some in the county. We need to keep a sense of space and a sense of community that comes from people who know each other figuring out how to live together in a thoughtful and compassionate way. The Ives building is too big, too massive, too out of scale with the neighborhood. Infill is an important concept and Bozeman needs to encourage the growth of housing which meets the needs of low and moderate income people. This building does not help us build a viable community structure. This building just accelerates the dynamics that make affordable living impossible in Bozeman. I lived in Boulder, Colorado for two years in the 70s and saw it change into a monster that destroyed concepts of stable communities that promote diversity and equity. Aspen took a similar course. Jackson, Wyoming has carried out similar destructive ideas. We do not need to duplicate these sad and destructive patterns. Bozeman is heading down the same course unless we pay attention to the needs of working people who need and demand viable neighborhoods. Tell the developer “No”!!! Tell them to build in a way that supports our community, rather than in a manner that destroys what we value. Please stop this proposal. Mike Clark 1429 South Grand Ave, Bozeman
