Dear Mayor and Commissioners, I am a member of the Parking Commission, but these comments are entirely in my personal capacity. I write in support of Annie Subdivision Phase 4. Together with my husband and two children,I live at 860 Rogers Way, two blocks north of the proposed development. I applaud this proposal for generating infill development with mixed density and diverse housing types. Ours is a highly walkable neighborhood near an elementary school, transitstops, commercial development, and parks and trails. This project is a good example of the types of infill our community should welcome. Since this project includes diverse housingtypes it will at the very least produce more housing in the "missing middle," and at best produce some housing that is more affordable. Our wonderful little neighborhood alreadyincludes a mixture of housing types ranging from apartments to single-family homes and the result is a vibrant and diverse neighborhood. We look forward to welcoming new neighbors. The pedestrian easement along the watercourse on the eastern edge of the property was asubject of the Planning Board discussion. This easement is an odd remnant from the earlier phases of the Annie development 20 years ago. Though the neighborhood kids happily sharethis space with each other (and duck families in the spring), and while a trail connection through this easement would be wonderful, I think it is highly unlikely because of the narrowwidth, necessary setbacks from the watercourse, and the proximity to residences. Hopefully, these types of narrow, orphaned easements are something we can avoid in future projects bycreating wider, more useable greenspace and requiring the installation of trail infrastructure when developments are created. This project's installation of a Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacon at 25th and Durston will bea welcomed pedestrian safety improvement for the area. Thank you for the opportunity to comment, and for your service and leadership. Sincerely, Kelly -- Kelly Pohl860 Rogers Way Bozeman, MT 59718m. 406.599.7841 e. kellycanyon@gmail.com
