Dear Marty, I appreciate your taking our comments regarding the planned changes to the noise ordinance. Ourneighborhood has already been impacted by the noise from the construction on Beall and Willsonstreets, private construction projects notwithstanding. For community and personal health, it is important to prohibit noise exceeding 60dB(A) in theevening and early morning. I understand the need to get these projects done expediently, yet continuous noise is distressing. The proposed 13 hours of noise daily is preferred to the previous 16hours allowed but is still extreme. Is it possible to reduce noise during the dinner hour? Perhapsreduced noise between 7PM and 7AM. That is still half the day that is potentially uncomfortablyloud. In addition, is there language that can be included in the change that would provide adjacent ownersadvance notice of extremely loud monotonous noise? Since COVID, many people have begun working from home. Even the allowable noise decibel when continuous can be extremely distracting.Advance notice would allow those working nearby to find a suitable alternative for those days andtimes. Hosting virtual meetings and presenting webinars is simply not conducive to loud outsidedistractions. Finally, what sort of enforcement is available to adjacent property owners? Stakes were beingpounded, for example, next to the One-Eleven property last week at 5AM. As neighbors, how can we help enforce the quiet times? And is there a way to reduce the monotonous noise that oftencomes from the continuous beeping signals on much large equipment? As you work through the planning language please consider how your family and lifestyle would beimpacted by major construction 12 or more hours a day next door, day after day. The amount ofconstruction taking place in the northeast neighborhood is incessant and I fear it has only just begun. Thank you so much for your consideration.
