(○) No Please describe your professional and personal experiences, interest, and qualifications that make you a good fit for this board. I currently work as an architect in Bozeman, and I am a graduate of the Master of Architecture program at MSU - School of Architecture, and between 2004 - 2010 I was a residential framing carpenter in the Gallatin Valley. Currently, I primarily work in residential architecture, almost exclusively in Gallatin County, with a lot of experience working in the City of Bozeman. For a few years, I also gained a significant amount of experience working on commercial projects in the City of Bozeman and have an abundance of experience working with the Planning and Building Departments in Bozeman. I appreciate the challenges the Bozeman community face as our city and county grow, and have an interest in being a part of the growth and having an impact on the future of our community. My background and experience align with the focus of the Community Development Board, and I feel I could be a valuable, insightful contributor. The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI. For a few years now, I have been a volunteer for NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards), currently on the Architect Registration Exam - Project Development and Documentation board where I work in collaboration with other volunteer architects from around the country writing content for the registration exam. Additionally, I served on a year long think tank with NCARB that focused solely on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within the profession of architecture. The task of the think tank was to investigate, discuss, and eventually propose ways that the profession of architecture could approach DEI and to map out avenues that NCARB could take in order to align themselves with the current trend of DEI.
