Please describe your professional and personal experiences, interest, and qualifications that make you
a good fit for this board.
I first moved to Bozeman in 2006. I grew up on the Crow and Northern Cheyenne reservations and in
Billings for the majority of my life before 2006. I discovered a great love for the city of Bozeman and the
community. I went to MSU-Bozeman and obtained my undergraduate degree there. I then moved back to
the Crow reservation for a couple of years, and then returned to Bozeman in 2014. I worked at MSU as the
Graduate Program Coordinator for the Dept. of Native American Studies, and then became the Program
Manager for American Indian/Alaska Native Student Success Services. I then took a position as the Program
Associate for an International Indigenous Women's Leadership Program, which works with Indigenous
communities across the country and in Canada. My office was based in Bozeman, and it was located in
Downtown Bozeman, above the Montana Gift Corral. I am now the Co-Executive Director at Mountain Time
Arts, which is also based in downtown Bozeman.
I have an understanding of the Bozeman way of life, and would like to see the those who are moving to
Bozeman develop the same love and deep respect for the community as I have.
The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have
engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI.
I have worked with Indigenous communities my entire life. I have relationships and connections with every
tribe in Montana. I am on the board of the Montana Racial Equity Project. I am on the board of Indigenous
Peoples' Day Montana, and we worked to have the city of Bozeman, Montana State University, and the
Bozeman Public Schools to recognize Indigenous Peoples' Day. I am on the Equity committee for Bozeman
Public Schools. I am actively involved and support the American Indian Council on campus, who hold
Bozeman's largest diversity event, the MSU American Indian Council Powwow, which draws over 4,000
diverse folks each year. My position for the Indigenous Leadership Program allowed me to see many
perspectives from different Indigenous communities around the country and in Canada. My current
position as Executive Co-Director of Mountain Time Arts works to elevate social and environmental justice.
