(○) Yes How long have you lived in the Bozeman Area? (○) 6-10 years Have you ever served on a City or County Board or Commission? (○) Yes (If Yes, where and how long?) Design Review Board - 5 years Please describe your professional and personal experiences, interest, and qualifications that make you a good fit for this board. I am a licensed Architect in the state of Montana, and am applying for the newly created (vacant) architect position on the Community Development Board. I have served on the Design Review Board for the past five years (currently as the Vice Chair). I have wanted to serve on the Planning Board and/or Zoning Commission, but restrictions from serving on subsequent boards were previously not permitted. As an architect, I have expertise in zoning, codes, and design; and am passionate about the betterment of Bozeman. Serving on the DRB has been an invaluable experience to provide guidance on the design of Bozeman. However, since that board often saw projects late in the progress, I often felt that I could provide better guidance earlier in the process, and am a strong advocate for this newly combined Community Development Board. The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI. None. I strongly support Bozeman’s DEI values. And I would encourage the City Commission to appoint any other architect applicant for this board that offers a more diverse opinion, or a better, more qualified applicant than myself. If there are no other architect applicants, I would love to serve on this board, and would provide a dedicated service as an impassioned advocate for the betterment of Bozeman.
