Please describe your professional and personal experiences, interest, and qualifications that make you
a good fit for this board.
I am a female business owner who has lived and worked in Bozeman for nearly two years. Within that time I
have become an active community member and have experienced the growth first hand occurring in the
community within the architectural profession, the Design Review Board and just simply living as a
community member. I am incredibly passionate about making healthy growth a reality here through smart,
dense building environments, more affordable housing and human connectivity. Now is the time to shape
and inform the growth of this city —. If we do not act now, more people that make this town what it is at
it’s core are at risk of being displaced.
I have 20 years of experience in the field of design. I hold Master’s in Architecture and a BA in Graphic
Design — I worked for Nike in Portland, Oregon before establishing my own practice in Open Studio
Collective in 2013. We practice architecture, interior and graphic design locally in Bozeman and in other
parts of the country. From 2019-2021 I acted as the Creative Director for CLB Architects in Bozeman before
returning to my own practice.
I was appointed to the City of Bozeman DRB in October of 2020, but the meetings were delayed and
became active in spring 2021 due to COVID. I feel that I am very early in my city board involvement, have
been learning a great deal and feel that I have much more to contribute.
The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have
engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI.
As a female business owner in the field of Architecture, I am consistently being put in the position to utilize
DEI practices. I have acted as a female leader in several woman’s based organizations and am constantly
improving my firm’s DEI practices through an inclusive, accepting and impartial work environment. In my
previous position as Creative Director at CLB architects I formed a diversity scholarship to help diversify a
field that is predominantly white and male — I feel that the more diverse our profession, the better the
built environment will become.
