(○) 6-10 years Have you ever served on a City or County Board or Commission? (○) No Please describe your professional and personal experiences, interest, and qualifications that make you a good fit for this board. I've been a crisis/social worker in this community with The Warming Center (HRDC), Haven, the Bozeman Help Center, and the MSU VOICE Center. These experiences shape how I view safety and wellbeing in our community and these perspectives are critical to addressing not only our cities needs around housing and safety but also justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. For the passed several years, I've been a grassroots organizer in our community with the Sunrise Movement and Bozeman United for Racial Justice. In these spaces, I've conducted trainings locally and nationally on grassroots organizing practices and anti-racism initiatives. I'm a working-class Bozemanite working currently in the service industry as a restaurant cook. The perspectives of the service industry are often overlooked but are important voices to have represented in our city government. Additionally, for the fall/winter/spring of 2021/22 I'll be serving as a Warming Center lead for our local emergency housing shelter with HRDC. The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI. I've had the privilege of getting to participate in numerous workshops and curriculum that address racism, classism, transphobia and homophobia in deeply intimate and introspective environments. Additionally, I've been able to offer many of these trainings in spaces that I've worked, such as the MSU VOICE Center and co-leading national anti-racism trainings for leaders within the Sunrise Movement to address racism in organizing spaces.
