(○) 1-5 years Have you ever served on a City or County Board or Commission? (○) Yes (If Yes, where and how long?) Please describe your professional and personal experiences, interest, and qualifications that make you a good fit for this board. I moved to Bozeman last summer from New York City with my two children. Prior to living in the city, we lived in Greenwich, CT, and Atlanta, GA. I find Bozeman to be an incredibly well-run city, I love that a person picks up the phone when I call the utility company, the dump or any local agency. I'm so happy to be here and to raise my kids here. I do know that Bozeman faces a unique set of challenges due largely to the growth we’ve experienced. I myself am not an expert in urban policy or planning but I work for one of the leading public policy institutes in the country and our urban policy fellows are among the brightest and most sought after for hearings at the local, state, and federal level. I have learned a great deal from them and have access to some of the smartest people in this space. I'd love the opportunity to bring intentional, unbiased, and data-driven planning to Bozeman and help the city grow in the most healthy and sustainable way. The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI. Having moved to Bozeman from New York City where I sent my children to an international school I strongly value diversity. I prefer when it's authentic and organic. My children went to school with kids from dozens of countries, with copious ethnicities, religions and other affiliations. This was true diversity and it can't be manufactured, and it shouldn't be. Bozeman is, admittedly, lacking in diversity with upwards of 90% white residents, a very high homeownership rate, and limited socioeconomic diversity. As long as parents teach their children to respect others and maintain the safety and quality of life we enjoy in Bozeman, our town will continue to grow and attract people from different backgrounds.
