(○) Less than 1 year Have you ever served on a City or County Board or Commission? (○) No Please describe your professional and personal experiences, interest, and qualifications that make you a good fit for this board. Born and raised in the West, I am keeping the curiosity alive wherever I go-- working on sustainability and natural resources issues in Colorado, California, New Zealand, and now Montana. I have a degree in Natural Resources Management and Watershed Science, graduated with honors, and have considerable experience (5yrs+) in stakeholder involvement, public policy, and environmental education. I'm currently working with lululemon Bozeman on community outreach and sustainability, creating partnerships with local organizations and small businesses to protect our beautiful community and natural setting. It's relevant to note, I worked for two years as a trained facilitator with the Center for Public Deliberation in Northern Colorado, guiding citizens through tough conversations. Essentially, my job was to facilitate group deliberation at public and private forums, to problem solve around issues related to transportation, housing, and the environment. The City of Bozeman strongly values diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Describe any efforts you have engaged in to expand your understanding of DEI. Working as an educator and instructor for young people, understanding my own implicit biases and identities has been the first step to connecting with my students. I've taught in the San Francisco Bay Area, working with underserved communities and coaching students through lessons about environmental and agricultural justice, food systems, and intersectional environmentalism. I'm constantly engaging with content about our ever-changing American culture. I take trainings and other internal offerings with lululemon related to inclusion and equity in our company and store. I constantly work to create a welcoming environment for all folks! My work in Northern Colorado was with people of all ages (under 18 to 65+), backgrounds, and many different economic classes. I'm always working to lean in to offer my perspective when needed, and lean out when I'm focused on listening and learning.
